Back: St Zelie was the mother of a Saint (Therese), a wife, and a talented lace maker. She married Louis Martin and they had 5 daughters, all of whom became nuns. Neither Zelie or Louie expected a call to the vocation of marriage as they were drawn to religious life. Nevertheless they poured everything into raising a holy family. Zelie died at the age of 45. She is the patron of illness, mental illness, marriage, parenting and widowers.
