Los Dones del Espiritu Santo

La Iglesia invoca al Espíritu Santo para que derrame sobre ella su luz y su amor. Como sucedió en Pentecostés, también los cristianos han de prepararse para recibirle en su corazón, invocándole con confianza. Pero, ¿quién es realmente el Espíritu Santo? ¿Por qué es tan importante en la vida de todo cristiano? Lo vemos representado en la iconografía y en el arte, lo menciona cada página del Nuevo Testamento, es citado en toda la liturgia de la Iglesia, pero sigue siendo desconocido para muchos. El autor, en este breve y extraordinario texto, ofrece un modo de avanzar en ese trato mediante la consideración detenida de su acción santificadora en cada alma, y lo hace mediante una novena de preparación a la fiesta de Pentecostés, analizando cada uno de los siete dones: sabiduría, entendimiento, consejo, fortaleza, ciencia, piedad y temor de Dios. The Church invokes the Holy Spirit to pour out His light and love upon her. Just as at Pentecost, Christians too must prepare to receive Him into their hearts, calling upon Him with confidence. But who is the Holy Spirit, really? Why is He so important in the life of every Christian? We see Him represented in iconography and art; He is mentioned on every page of the New Testament and cited throughout the Church's liturgy, yet He remains unknown to many. In this brief yet extraordinary text, the author offers a way to deepen this relationship through a careful examination of the Spirit's sanctifying action in each soul. He does so by means of a novena in preparation for the feast of Pentecost, analyzing each of the seven gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.
