This pyx features a pewter medallion showing the Blessed Sacrament on the lid. A chalice is surrounded by grapes and bread. The pyx is made of brass and given a 24-karat gold plate finish. This finish ensures that the consecrated host within is touched only by precious metal, in keeping with the standards set forth by the Catholic Church. The deep, slip-on telescope lid fits securely so that the priest, deacon or minister who carries this can rest assured that the Blessed Sacrament will remain within. This pyx measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter and one inch deep. It will accommodate up to 20 hosts.
