St Andrew HF Novena Card

Increased devotion to the Holy Family began in the 17th century, leading to a feast day added to the General Roman Calendar in 1921, to celebrate them as a role model for families. Scenes reflecting their life together have been represented in art for centuries, especially the birth of Jesus at Christmas. Traditional prayers said in anticipation of the coming of the Infant Jesus include the St. Andrew Christmas Novena prayer. This prayer is typically prayed 15 times daily throughout Advent, from November 30, St. Andrew's feast day, until Christmas.
