I highly recommend the prayer dice!! We got a bedtime prayer die and our kids
(who would never pray out loud) are rolling the die and asking for two prayers a
night... they are getting more comfortable praying out loud... :) -- Jaime, St.
This Bedtime Prayers Die is a wonderful gift for children, ages
5 to 105, during the Christmas season, on their birthday, for their First
Communion, or just because. Church communities can welcome new members with a
loaf of bread and a table grace die (item # 32314). Those welcoming a new baby
into their family can give a bedtime prayers die to the older siblings.
Grandparents can comfort grandchildren spending the night by giving them a
prayer die. Senior centers, hospices, retreat houses, and family restaurants can
place a table grace die on each table. Parents can bring a mealtime prayer cube
(item # 32314) along when they take their kids out to eat at their favorite
restaurant. (You can even suggest to your favorite restaurants that they have
the mealtime prayer cube available for use and/or for sale as well!) The bedtime
prayers die is a simple but profound way in which children of all ages can lead
the family in prayer together right before they are tucked in for the night.
Your young ones will love rolling the die for the words to thank the Giver of
all good gifts.
Casting lots is a scriptural way to make a choice. The
eleven Apostles chose Matthias to succeed Judas Iscariot as one of the Twelve
Apostles by casting lots (Acts 1:15-26).
Each side of the die offers a
different bedtime prayer. The six bedtime prayers are as follows:
evening, God, I come to rest.
I hope today I did my best.
Forgive me if I
missed Your mark.
Be with me always in the dark. Amen
God, I thank you
for this day!
Be with me while I sleep.
Comfort all who weep.
your world tonight!
Bless us with your might! Amen.
Now I lay me down
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
May angels cradle me at
And bless me in the morning light. Amen.
Angels bless and angels
Angels guard me while I sleep.
Bless my heart, bless my
bless my spirit as I roam.
Guide and guard me through the
Wake me with the morning's light. Amen
God, hold me and bless
me, grant me rest.
When You are with me,
I sleep the best.
Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
to whom God's love
watch over me throughout the night,
And keep me safe
your sight. Amen
